Shooting location

Last week myself (cinematographer), Lawerence (director/editor) and Michaela (producer) met up to write the story board and other details for the film. In the team we also have Stephanie (light/sound), Soraya (line producer) and Alice (music)

We decided that everyone in the team should go around Coventry and find a park that we could use for the shooting.

It was quite hard to find something as the scripts gives quite specific details about the location and the park. The main objects we need are a swing, a roundabout and a seesaw, and for the playground to be opposite a street and to be quite run down and spooky.

I went to see two parks. Seen few other ones but they weren't suitable for the film.

1.

2. I like the second one best, the only problems is it would require some changes to the scrips. There are two swings but the actual swings aren't there anymore (which made me think that we could use that..we could have the sound of some swings without having the swings there). Also it doesn't have a roundabout, but that could be replaced by the chain 'wall' that could move on its own. The seesaw is really good, especially because it's on springs, so once you push it it goes on it's own for quite a while. Also everything in there is really sun down, including the floor and fence which will give it the perfect look for the film. It's not very clean either, there are broken traffic cones and rubbish everywhere. It is placed by the train lines in cov, and you can see it from a street; it's not placed exactly how the script describes it but I think we can alter it slighlty.
