Finished the Stop Motion Film and handed in everything...happy days...quite upset we finish the module tho...it was the best we had to be honest :)

Stop Motion Film - Final Project

This week I've been working on my final project for the 210MC module (click here for project brief)
We have to do a film from stills....I chose quite a challenging project but I'm confindet that I'll manage to do it...It's a stop motion film, and the pictures need to be taken from above; the person will lie down on the floor and then everything is possible...flying jumping....we can go crazy...

I finnally found a place where it was possible to take the pictures from above - the lounge on the second floor in Ellen Terry...It has a balcony from the 3rd floor. Media Loan Shop have a tripod that can go to 90 degrees which is more than helpful...the tripod is exclusive for Photography students...it's good to have friends from different courses (thanks Olly!!!!)

All good, found people to help, took the 3 point lights out, tripod, props (all my clothes, my two duvees, pillows...my room was empty when I left)....managed to set up everything...We took about 7 pictures when the Theatre Techinician asked us what we're doing there, why she didn't know about it, and if we had a Risk Assessment...well nothing to say we just had to pack up and leave...not what we wanted to hear

I wrote a risk assessment and went to see her the next day and we agreed on a time when I can go back and start again...this time it was just me and my friend Jana and the actor....quite hard work...felt like I went to the gim for a whole week after 3 hours of shooting...

All went well at the end...still need to edit and add sound but I'll show you a preview of it :)

The DVD City

Made another pic from the DVD City series...in this one i used the picture of an abandoned water park at night...really interesting how it still has the lights on. Also added some lights to make it look like a street...

To infinity and beyond

The second aspect to the project also concerns the idea of size, but this time
it could be interpreted as vastness, volume, emotion or supersized Big-Mac!
Big prints do not necessarily convey big things, either scale or content.

The DVD City - From Macro/Micro to Infinity

This week we had to use macro/micro (Click here for the project outline)

I chose to make a city out of DVDs and then use Photoshop to add people/objects to make it look real...I think the first two work pretty well, you can't really see what's happening there. The last two make the viewer realise what's happening there, making him/her go back to the first two and watch them again.
I enjoyed working on this project...I'll try some more Photoshop :)

A picture is worth a thousand words

I just sarted a new module this term, called Lens Based Media. Every week we'll have a small project.
For the first week we received a part of a novel. Each student had a different one. According to that, we had to take a picture. Here is my text and the picture i took.

"Naoko clamped her motuh shut and started walking again. I could tell her that all kinds of thoughts were whirling around in her head, so rather thatn intrude on them I kept silent and walked bu her side.
'It would be wrong - wrong for you, wrong for me,' she said after a long pause. 'Wrong how?' I murmured.
'Don't you see? It's just not possible for one person to watch over another person forever and ever. I mean, suppose we got married. You'd have to work during the day. Who's going to watchover me while you're away? Or if you go on a business trip, who's going to watch over me then? Can I be glued to you every minute of our lives? What kind of equality would there be in that? What kind of relationship would that be? Sooner or later you'd get sick of me. You'd wonder what you were doing with your life, why you were spending all your time babysitting this woman. I couldn't stand that. It wouldn't solve any of my problems'."






I took the picture a while ago, but I think it fits the text. A man and a woman thinking about their lives together.
I chose to use black & white and blue, because blue gives a sad mood.
