No More Deaths in Custody March

Last week we went to the march in London to document it with interviews and images of the demonstration. I think it went really well. I was in a team with Jenny and in the beginning I was filming and she was asking the questions and then we swapped.

We didn't have too much negative answers from demonstrators and families, only one family refused to do the interview and one demonstrator considered they didn't have too much to say as they attended only to uspport.

We used the Z5 with a card recorder instead of tape, that being the reason why we were the 'last team standing' as everyone else's tapes finishes so we managed to get some images from the end of the demonstration when the police came in. Unfortunately we didn't get images of the arests that took place, but we managed to film all the speeches that took place in front of Downing Street.

Now we are in the process of editing everything. Jenny and me have to edit mainly the Downing Street speeches; there is not much editing involved as it is mass observation, but we need to add the photos of the victims and names of the family members who are speaking for them

  1. Good to see this. Any chance you can write up your reflections on the MassObs project to date?
