I found another two competitions I want to enter.
The first one is to win this exhibition space for a month, which is on Far Gosford Street. It's a warehouse that is used by artist and there is a competition to have this space by submitting an interesting project proposal that can be anything from a performance, to a screening..anything..The idea I have is to make an interactive projection using Isadora. I borrowed the dongle with the software on it from ICE to play around with it, practice and figure out what I can do with it, and what I will do.
It is so complex that at the moment it is quite overwhelming. I have few ideas but I just need to figure out if I can put them in practice with Isadora, and if I can how I will do that.
My idea is to have an interactive projection, that will react to movement and sound, and throughout the exhibition to bring performers in - dancers, musicians - to interact with it. I watched all the tutorials the person who created the software recorded so I understand how it works a bit more, but I just need to 'teach myself' most of the things.
For example I really like what this interactive projection does
There is also this one which is very interesting but they use the Kinect software modified which I don't have access to.
The other competition is linked to Usain Bolt's 100m record of 9.58 second, therefore they are looking for 9.58 second artworks. The first 8 will be screened at Fierce Festival in Birmingham. I don't actually know what I want to do for this one yet. The deadline is in February so at least I have a bit more time.
The Interactive projection deadline is in two days which rather scares me. I don't have to have the artwork done by then, but I have to have the concept well outlined so it look appealing and interesting to the organizers. I have an artist on board to give me a hand with creating the space, as I would like to also create an installation to project the images onto.
