Experimental Videos

I started playing around with some images of dances I filmed earlier this year. I only played with some effects, timing and cropping, and using the space in a different way.

Also looking at the videos from yesterday from the dvd Cinema 16, seeing the variety of types of experimental took me back to a project I did two years ago for my course. We had to do a 'derive' of a city, to show how we experienced it.

Because our group was very big (8 members) it wouldn't have been effective to have everyone doing the same thing, so we've split in three groups and each group recorded their experience of the city in a different format. Film, Photos and Sound, and then we've put them together as seen above. We changed the speed of the video because that's how we experienced the city, not really paying attention to much details, but sometimes focusing on something very random and that's when we left the speed as recorded.

I came with this idea, and I can't say where it came from as I haven't really watched experimental videos until now. When I was watching yesterday's and last week's videos made me thing of this so I though appropriate to put it up.

Because we watched some really interesting stop motion films yesterday, I though I'd put mine up as well from my second year. It's not very elaborate, and it wasn't exactly planned out, I just made the 'story' on the spot.
